walking the line'
paintings 2013
For this body of work I had to work in an unfamiliar studio in Germany and my otherwise very focused attitude while painting
took a different turn. It was not just because of being in a different working space but also in a different mind space. I was
suppose to be on 'holidays' and not working at all. Consequently I took myself and my work a bit less serious than usually and
decided to take a line for a walk and see what happens. This way I managed to fulfill my unexpected obligations and had fun
too! See what you think about taking my lines for a walk.

'traveling light' paintings
Often elements from the real environment, those that impinge unfavourably on my subconscious, find themselves transformed into
something more acceptable - or even beautiful. In this body of work the industrial chimneys of a local power plant nearby become
whimsical beacons of light. Before long the light is the only element necessary. It is the translation of ugly to beautiful that allows
me to create a world I can live with and others can enjoy
