"when asked why do I paint what I paint I reply - it is as if I look in the mirror with my nose touching it.
I can’t make out what I see. but stepping back, the vision become clearer until I reached a point were
all is in focus, including surroundings. It can take me years to see it clearly and sometimes I never get it because my nose is still touching that mirror.

when jeanine creates she can escape from this demanding world.
often elements from the real environment, those that impinge  unfavourably on her subconscious,
find themselves transformed into something more acceptable - or even beautiful.
it may be one day beautiful dresses which don’t restrict but rather send you free or in another body of work the industrial chimneys of a local power plant nearby become whimsical beacons of light.
before long the light is the only element necessary.
it is the translation of ugly to beautiful that allows her to create a world she can live with and others can enjoy. communicating one meaning of her work with a lighthearted title does not mean there is no serious element to be ignored.  jeanine regards humour as a powerful tool and she like to use it whenever possible
